Morning glory 空心菜 (also known as water spinach, ong choy, pak boong, kang kong, and swamp cabbage to name a few) is one of the top 3 leafy greens in my opinion 😬 The hollow stems are what make this vegetable stand out. With a mild flavor, you can enjoy it as a simple and quick stir-fry side dish or dress it up with a sauce like the Taiwanese Bull Head shacha bbq sauce 牛頭牌沙茶醬. I show the easiest and most common way to cook water spinach here - just stir-fried with garlic and salt. If I were eating this on my own, I’d throw in half of a fresh Thai chili pepper since I’m addicted to spice. ▹same recipe with music version: https://youtu.be/l8sB_by53jc 🍉 Subscribe to my channel and press the bell button to never miss the latest cooking videos ▸ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSgd3AVPotyN6VzBS6_8SNw?sub_confirmation=1 ▹printable recipe and step-by-step photos: https://healthyfeels.com/stir-fried-morning-glory category: side dish method: stir-fried cuisine: Taiwanese, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian __________________________________ ▹For printable recipes, visit my website: https://healthyfeels.com Stop by for a chat on: ▸Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thesoundofcooking/ ▸Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/soundofcooking ▸Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/thesoundofcooking/ __________________________________ ABOUT CINDY Hello, I’m Cindy Chou (“Zhou”): a professional chef from NYC and former engineer, now on my way to becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). I was trained as a chef at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and studied nutritional sciences at NYU and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I spent my young childhood years exploring the kitchen of my dad’s restaurant and “testing” recipes while home alone (it was a long time ago!). I love creating recipes that are often inspired by my Taiwanese roots and my time living in North Carolina, Georgia, Taipei, New York City, and California. After working in professional kitchens, teaching cooking classes, and cooking for families as a private chef, I hope to empower others to slow down, be present, and cook more. Some of my favorite things include visiting farmers markets, cooking family meals, teaching cooking classes, reading food memoirs, and creating visual stories.
