About This Video

I’m not a gatekeeper, so in this uncut build I walk you through exactly how I set up a full 1040 tax return process in SuiteDash—built for tax pros, bookkeepers, and service providers who want clients to stop asking “what’s next?” every five minutes. I build the whole thing around Portal Pages because I like moving people through a step-by-step flow on one page (instead of a million links and tabs). You’ll see how I structure Circles, lock down row access by stage, clean up naming conventions so everything connects properly, and set the Start Page so clients always land back in the right place. Then I wire up the real magic: automations. I embed forms using Form Blocks, use update forms to move clients from Circle to Circle (communication agreement → engagement letter → deposit/invoice → organizer part 1 → organizer part 2), and trigger a Project Generator once the organizer is complete so the internal team can actually start the work. I also show my favorite little “client confidence” hack: a progress bar tied to a number custom field, updated through project task automations so clients can see exactly where they are. Disclaimer: since filming, SuiteDash added Checkout Forms, and yes—I’d likely swap the invoice step for that once it’s tested the way I want.
