After years of considering, I finally got round to having my first ever tattoo done! The main reason I held off for so long (I've wanted one since my early 20s) was that I couldn't actually decide what I wanted to get! It was only on a recent run that I saw something (that I've seen so many times before) that I knew would make a great tattoo.... The run I was doing was the West Highland Way and the signposts all show an icon of a thistle. I hadn't actually realised until recently that this symbol is used for all of Scotland's Great Trails, of which there are many. Indeed looking up how many there are (29 in total) has inspired me to plan running them all over the coming years. I was fortunately prompted into getting the tattoo by one of our neighbours who has recently started her own tattoo studio in Glasgow called Mortez https://www.mortez.co.uk/ Gillian did an amazing job. With just a simple outline she managed to put in so much detail and almost make it look like it has been carved into my leg. With regards to how it was... Let's just say SORE!
