Hello Quilt Nation! In this video I’m showing off something that’s honestly just plain awesome—an incredible quilted smoker’s jacket that my good buddy Andrew, The Combat Quilter, made for me. He didn’t just make one, either—he made jackets for me and Rob Appell, and Rob and I share the same birthday. We were on a quilt retreat when Andrew surprised us with them, and I’m telling you right now… I love this thing. This one isn’t a step-by-step build video as much as it’s a big ol’ appreciation moment for the quilting community and what happens when makers put their heart into a project. The takeaway is simple: quilts don’t have to live on a bed. Quilting can be wearable, bold, and personal—and sometimes it shows up at the exact right time, like a gift at retreat from a friend who gets it.
