Hello Quilt Nation! In this one I’m back on my 1st Sergeant quilt build, and we’re zeroing in on his hat—because those little details are what make a portrait-style project really come alive. I show you how I’ve started building the cap by taking it piece by piece, focusing on alignment and clean assembly so the shapes read correctly when it all comes together. This is the part of the process where patience pays off, and I’m enjoying every bit of it. For me, this kind of intricate work has a real healing effect. There’s something about concentrating on each section—cutting, placing, and building the layers—that quiets the noise and keeps my hands and mind moving in the same direction.
