Hello Quilt Nation! In this video I’m checking in on my Buffalo Soldier quilt build—specifically the 1st Sergeant—and I’m happy to say he’s really starting to come to life. I’ll be straight with you: I did get a little ahead of y’all on this one, but from here on out we’re moving forward together. Maybe not stitch-for-stitch every single minute, but we’re absolutely building this thing as a team. I also talk about where my head is at creatively, because I honestly think I may have found my next niche outside of crumb piecing. This project has that bold, patriotic energy I love, and it’s the kind of quilting that keeps my hands busy and my mind steady—quilting as therapy, just like I always preach.
