In today’s video, I’m sharing our simple basement grow light setup that we’ve used for years to start hundreds (even thousands) of plants indoors. You don’t need a greenhouse or a special room — just a basic shelf, full spectrum LED grow lights, and a little preparation. I’ll walk you through: The 4-foot, 40W full spectrum LED lights we use How we attach them to our shelves Why we use two lights per shelf How we adjust height as plants grow Using heat mats for peppers How we automate light timing with a smart plug Why this upfront investment has paid off year after year We live in Zone 6, where the garden can’t go outside until late spring — sometimes even June. Starting seeds indoors allows us to extend our growing season and be ready the moment the soil warms up. This setup isn’t fancy. It’s not complicated. But it works — and it has allowed us to grow hundreds of healthy plants right here in our basement while there’s still snow on the ground. If you're looking for a simple, economical way to start seeds indoors, I hope this gives you ideas and confidence to begin. Let me know in the comments: What grow light setup have you used before? Is this something you’d try in your basement? And remember — don’t be afraid to get a little dirt on your fingernails and turn that dirt into dinner. 🌱 Shop GreenStalk Planters https://rstr.co/greenstalkgarden/provident.
