When my seedlings stopped growing, I played detective — here's everything I tried and what finally fixed it. They germinated beautifully and then just stopped. No true leaves, no new growth, nothing. For weeks I kept waiting, wondering if I was just being impatient (not an unusual thing for me!). But eventually I knew something was wrong and I had to figure it out. In this video I'm taking you back through the whole process — every thing I checked, every thing I tried, and the little experiment I ran that finally revealed the culprit. Because if this happened to me after years of successfully starting seeds, it could happen to you too. Things I investigated: Soil pH, moisture, and temperature Heat mat use after germination Airflow and room temperature Soil quality and nutrient availability The experiment I ran: I split my seedlings into three groups — one left exactly the same, one left in the same soil but given plant food, and one transplanted into completely different potting soil. After 12 days the results were clear and I finally had my answer. I'll also share the one extra observation that confirmed for me without a doubt what the real problem was — and it had nothing to do with anything I was doing wrong as a gardener. The good news? Most of my tomatoes and peppers are now growing beautifully and will be ready for the garden in just a few weeks.
