The One Role of a Property Investor You Ignore at Your Peril (so why do they do it?)

In my opinion there are 4 principle roles of a property investor. One of which is to protect their investment. This requires, among other things, organising, insurance, proper property management, and keeping on top of repairs, for example. This being the case, I never ceased to be amazed when I see properties that have been allowed to deteriorate physically, presumably with the knowledge of, or because of the neglect of, their owners or their property managers. In this short video I show an example of a property I have seen in Nottingham where, for the sake of a quick and simple repair, all sorts of problems are being created which could well cost £1,000s to rectify. i know this property has been like this for several years, and the damage will be increasing daily. And this isn't a derelict ruin of a property. This is a major building in the city centre which is in use. The really sad thing is it'd only take half an hour for someone with a ladder to put this right. No matter how big or small a property is, or what its use is, it needs to be maintained properly. And when attention is needed, it should be given promptly. As someone once told me "problems compound with time" and this is definitely true with items of disrepair, especially any items of disrepair involving water.
