Who is the most important member of your power team? Well, on the basis that you won't do many deals if you don't have any money, I'd have to say it is your mortgage broker. But be aware that not all mortgage brokers are the same. Some are very good, and some aren't. Some will understand what you are trying to do, and some won't. Some are whole of market and some aren't. Some understand the principles behind BRR (Buy Refurbish Refinance) and some don't. Ideally you want someone who invests in property themselves, and is aware of what you are trying to achieve. Someone who is an expert about the 1000s of buy to let mortgage products available on the market. Ideally you need someone who is, in effect, a strategic partner who is going to help you to hit your goals. Here's to successful property investing!
