In this Day in the Life of an ESL Teacher vlog, I am sharing with you my experience with administering the Wida ACCESS test. As an ESL teacher in the USA, because we are part of the WIDA consortium, one of our tasks is to administer the WIDA ACCESS once a year to determine how much are esl students are growing in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. We have over 200 ELLs in our building and my esl teacher partner and I tested them within 2 weeks and a half. The test has four separate sections. I am very curious about what your esl teaching experiences as an esl teacher in your state in the USA or in another country are in regards to testing and what types of interventions programs you provide for English language learners who are below grade level in regards to literacy. We service our students with co-teaching but I also provide intensive intervention to help fill in literacy gaps. I hope you enjoy this video and get an idea of what is a tiny snapshot of one of my days as an esl teacher in the USA. I wish I didn't have to test as much as I do as an esl teacher, but I understand the importance of having enough data to determine student progress and growth.
