A Day in the Life of an ESL Teacher: Spend a day with me as I take you on a typical day in the life of an esl teacher. I do esl teaching for both beginner all the way to intermediate approaching to advanced leveled English learners. I have students who are mostly Spanish speaking. I pull them three times a week for intervention to fill in the gap with regard to their reading, writing, listening, speaking proficiency in addition to vocabulary acquisition and so much more. My goal is to see growth in their reading scores so that they are able to obtain grade level proficiency. I thought it would be interesting to take you along with me so that you can get an idea of what a day is like for another ESL teacher. On other days of the week I coteach with an ELA teacher. All of my students are 8th graders. What model do you use at your school? Are you a K-8 esl teacher? How many students are on your caseload? What have you been your successes?
