Bartender is a macOS utility that gives you control over your menu bar items. About This Video

In this video, I break down what Bartender is and why it’s one of the easiest ways to fix a messy Mac menu bar. My goal is simple: keep the menu bar clean, but still get quick access to everything when I need it. I show you how I use a “container” approach—my main menu bar stays minimal, and all the extra icons live behind a single Bartender icon (I even set mine to that cool-looking sunglasses icon). One click (or hover/click on empty space, depending on your settings) and everything is right there. I walk you through the key settings: start at login, reveal options (click empty space, swipe/scroll, hover with a custom delay like 0.2s), auto-rehide, spacing, and how to drag-and-drop menu bar items to arrange them exactly how you want. I also show the styling options like standard, solid color, gradient, glass, and classic bar—plus rounded and pill-style shapes if you want to go deep into customization. Finally, I cover pricing: $20 one-time purchase (plus tax), $60 “mega supporter” for future updates, or the option I personally suggest—getting Bartender via Setapp, where you pay a single subscription and get a lot of other useful apps too.
