Welcome back to the Garden of Reading—more specifically, welcome back to the garden of movies. In this video I’m sharing my very first huge physical media haul, and y’all… it’s a big one. I’m talking VHS tapes and DVDs with all the nostalgic ‘90s and early 2000s vibes, and I walk you through what I picked up, where I found it, and why collecting physical media brings me pure joy and satisfaction. If you’re a fellow VHS collector (or DVD collector), this one is absolutely for you. I start with my local Goodwill finds (VHS are $1 and DVDs are $2 at mine—an absolute score), including a wish-list “golden item” I’d been eyeing online, plus some holiday classics and a few live-action gems I actually do want on VHS. Then I share a bunch of lots I grabbed from Mercari and a few other spots—Disney favorites, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network nostalgia, and kid-approved picks my little ones can rotate at lunchtime from our rolling cart. I also show a Teletubbies lot for my daughter and a DuckTales collection that hit me right in the childhood memories. By the end, I counted it all up: 48 VHS tapes in one haul.
