In this video I walk you through how to get ungated for Starbucks on Amazon in 2024, and this is part of my series where I show new sellers how to unlock tougher brands and categories. Starbucks is a great brand to sell because there are so many different products (coffee, creamers, drinkware, mugs, seasonal items), people love the brand, and they’ll pay good money for the right stuff—especially limited edition or seasonal finds. First, I cover where you can source Starbucks for resale. For retail and online arbitrage, I like checking Walmart, Target, and even Target stores with the Starbucks inside (those cups can move). I also remind you to use Rakuten when you’re buying online because free cash back adds up fast. Then I get into the actual ungating process: you typically need an invoice from a wholesaler/distributor and Amazon usually wants a quantity of at least 10 units on that invoice. I show two websites that can work—Bulk Office Supply and Wholesale Janitorial Supply—how to find a Starbucks item, add 10 units, and use that invoice to apply. The big takeaway: you’re often buying to unlock the brand (not for profit on that first order), because the real value is getting approved so you can sell Starbucks going forward.
