In this video, I’m sharing my super simple wash day routine that makes everything so much easier and leaves my natural hair soft, manageable, and tangle-free. I start by showing you my hair in its real-life state—no product, super dry, and honestly a struggle to run my hands through. That’s exactly why I love this routine: it helps me avoid unnecessary breakage that can happen when you try to comb through hair that isn’t properly prepped. I keep it quick and beginner-friendly with just three main steps: drench the hair with water first (so it’s fully saturated), shampoo gently with my fingers while being careful with my scalp, then rinse really well. After that, I section my hair into four parts, apply conditioner to each section, massage it in, detangle with a comb/brush, and braid each section to keep it from tangling back up. Once I rinse the conditioner out completely, I comb my hair smoothly into place, towel-dry, and finish with Jamaica black castor oil to seal in that softness. The before-and-after speaks for itself—clean scalp, easy slip, and no stress.
