In this video I take a little stroll down memory lane and hook the FIFINE K669D up to my Focusrite Vocaster 2—two pieces of gear that have basically been sitting on the shelf collecting dust in my studio. The Vocaster 2 used to be my utmost favorite interface until I ran into an issue I thought was the interface or OBS… turns out it was some software I downloaded. So I’m revisiting it because I want you to know: this thing still sounds really clean and crisp, it’s quiet, and I don’t hear any latency or self-noise when I’m monitoring in real time. I start “plain Jane” with no enhancements, then I jump into the Vocaster Hub presets—Radio, Clean, Warm, and Bright—and you can hear what the K669D does on each one. I also swap in the FIFINE AM8 and K688 to compare those same presets, and I talk about why I still lean toward that deeper, bassy “radio” vibe. Big takeaway: the K669D is still a gem for budget podcasting, and the Vocaster 2 is absolutely still worth it in 2026—especially when you can find it dirt cheap on sale.
