In this Makeup & Yap, I’m doing a full face and just chilling with y’all while I talk through two things that were on my mind: the Southwest “extra seat” conversation and the behind-the-scenes of my very first real influencer event with BK Beauty. I start with my standard mature-skin-friendly prep (it’s what I use nine times out of ten), then I go in with my current foundation obsession—the NARS Natural Matte—using my BK Beauty 101 brush. As I’m building the base, I share my honest thoughts on personal space while flying, and why (as someone who’s always been on the heavier side and is currently on a weight loss journey) I can understand the concerns for all parties involved. Then I get into the BK Beauty cocktail hour experience—how I got the email invite, the excitement of receiving PR from a brand I already purchased with my own money, and what it felt like to finally meet creators and pros in person. I’m giving you the real: it was inspiring, uplifting, and yes, there were a couple awkward moments—but overall it was such a positive first event. We finish the glam with a bronzed, blushed look and a lip combo I truly could not get over.
