About This Video

In this video, I’m basically doing the “okay, fine, here’s the honest behind-the-scenes” version of Shrek 2 Retold’s production. I sit down in a podcast-style setup with Conner Japikse and Garfield (the Monday Killer), and we talk through how this whole thing even became our problem—in the best way. The project started as an Austin Powers Retold idea, then morphed into Shrek 2 Retold, and then… yeah, there was chaos, miscommunication, and a whole lot of “wait, that’s not what we meant.” We get into how the early server was totally open, why that gets confusing fast, and why I’m pretty firm now on: don’t make your reanimated-project Discord public unless you want your entire life to become “can I come on can I come on.” We also talk about how Garfield got pulled in to divide scenes, how “shot-for-shot” vs “by scene” became a massive point of confusion, and how Phase 2 turned into an invite-only, more organized production. Then we show three rough, work-in-progress scenes (33, 44, and 83). They’re not final—don’t show them to anyone—but seeing the pieces come in is the part that makes me go from “I really didn’t want to do another one” to being completely psyched again.
