This video is the “All Star” opening scene from Shrek Retold — the part where the whole vibe locks in immediately. It’s Fauxny/Kevin Gonring’s acoustic cover of Smash Mouth’s “All Star,” and yeah, I’m still calling it the crown jewel of the Shrek Retold soundtrack. The clip is basically pure momentum: “fed to the rules and I hit the ground running,” then it just keeps sprinting through that familiar “you never know if you don’t go / you never shine if you don’t glow” energy. From my side of the chaos, this is what I love about comedy fan films: you take a thing everyone knows and you rebuild it with a totally different texture. Acoustic, warm, a little unhinged in the best way — and it still hits.
