In this video I’m literally in the countdown to kicking off a live training, so I figured I’d do a quick behind-the-scenes tour of the studio and show you how I keep it from turning into a stressful tech circus. The big idea is simple: I want a “live production” mindset where I’m focused on delivering the training, not babysitting gear. So I’ll walk you through how I position everything—my Elgato Prompter XL with a Sony ZV-E10 (Sigma 30mm) as my main eye-contact camera, dual-window Zoom (speaker view + gallery), and a Dell touchscreen that becomes mission control for Ecamm settings, Zoom controls, and on-screen comments. I also break down how I actually run the show: two Stream Deck XLs handle scene changes, recording, and even lighting triggers, so I’m not mousing around mid-session. On the camera side, I’ve got OBSBOT cameras for top-down and PTZ angles that I can tie to specific Ecamm scenes, plus a mobile Osmo Pocket for quick “grab-and-show” moments. For audio, my PodMic USB runs into the RODECaster Pro II, which lets me manage levels (Zoom, music, Ecamm) and use a noise gate to kill the air-con noise when I’m not speaking. Finally, I talk lighting and why I’ve moved away from big traditional softboxes. My Nanlite Forza 60s have been rock-solid for years, but they’re bulky—so I’m recommending the Amaran Verge Max/Verge panels because they’re thin, desk-mounted, and easy to control. Add proper acoustic panels and you’ve got a studio that feels calm, repeatable, and ready for one-take training delivery.
