In this vlog, I’m taking y’all with me through my wisdom teeth removal day (I had three taken out this time—one was outside my gum and decaying, and two were inside my gum). I kept it super real from the moment I woke up on surgery day, to changing my gauze, picking up prescriptions at Walgreens, and dealing with the swelling, bleeding, and that “numbing wearing off” pain. I was awake during the procedure (that’s just my preference), and I’ll be honest—once the numbness faded, the pain was no joke until I finally ate something and took my ibuprofen. I also share exactly what I ate while healing (smoothies, soups, mashed potatoes, applesauce), why I avoided straws (dry socket is not what we’re doing), and what helped me the most with inflammation—especially pineapple. I’m a type 1 diabetic, so I talk about being extra mindful with blood sugar while recovering too. Two weeks later, I wrap everything up with my final recovery timeline (my swelling took about a week and a half to fully go down), plus a little self-care skincare moment because my skin was going through it (period + recovery = a lot).
