When I first wake up, I immediately pray in my head and just thank the Lord for waking me up. I’ll usually pray for about 10–15 minutes, then I do a super quick check of emails/messages (I know it’s a bad habit, so I keep it to a minute or two). After that, I read my daily devotional because it really helps set the tone for my morning, and then I make my bed—lately I’ve been so consistent with it, and it makes my room look way more put together. I also love having a little ambiance on in the background while I transition into my day. Then I freshen up and get into my self-care. I’m showing you my full oral care and skincare flow, including my affordable electric toothbrush that’s completely changed my brushing routine (especially because I’m a type 1 diabetic and I have to stay on top of my teeth and gums). I cleanse, de-puff with an ice roller, and go in with my skincare staples—like the exfoliant that helped two big pimples disappear super fast—plus hydration and lip care. I also do gua sha for lymphatic drainage, and I share a realistic, simple summer makeup routine because in this heat, a full face is just not it. To wrap it up, I make my classic healthy, diabetic-friendly sandwich, drink water, take my insulin, and get into my work block with my laptop and agenda. And because it’s summer, I make sure I get outside for a little sun when I can—balance is the whole point: feeling good, looking fresh, and starting the day with intention.
