About This Video

It’s been quite a while since I last covered a SIMGOT IEM, so in this video I’m diving into the brand new ET142 (aka the “Elite Planar” in my book). I start with the unboxing, and honestly SIMGOT’s presentation has come a long way since the EA500 days—premium sleeve, tasteful grey theme, exploded view on the back, and best of all… no pointless Hi-Res logo. You get a proper accessory spread too: multiple eartips, nozzle sponges, O-rings, and a total of four nozzles (titanium blue stock, gold, short black ring, short red ring), plus a hard case with the included LC7 upgrade cable. From there I talk build and tech: a mirror-finish alloy chassis (pretty, but a fingerprint magnet) housing a 12.5mm planar driver plus a piezoelectric tweeter. That tweeter is the key—it smooths out the upper mids/treble so you get that planar detail without the older planar harshness. Sound-wise, the ET142 is a V-shape with elevated upper mids depending on nozzle choice. Bass is clean with strong sub-bass fundamentals, mids are fast and crystalline with vocals that have this airy “halo,” and treble extension is effortless and controlled. I also compare it to the Tangzu Wu Zetian Legend and 7Hz Timeless 2, then wrap with my ratings: Bass 8, Mids 7.5, Treble 8, Resolution 8, Stage 7.5, and Enjoyment is an A+.
