About This Video

BGVP sent me their latest hybrid IEM, the Feather, over Chinese New Year and it instantly piqued my interest—mainly because that faceplate is… unforgettable. You get the usual BGVP-style unboxing: a sleeve, a window-box presentation, a white carrying case, an interchangeable plug cable (3.5mm and 4.4mm), and a surprisingly decent set of tips (vocal silicone, bass silicone, and foams). Build-wise, it’s a custom-universal style shell that actually looks unique, with a two-tone royal blue/turquoise shimmer depending on the light, plus 2-pin connectors for easy cable swaps. Sound-wise, the Feather is a traditional hybrid (1DD + 4BA) with a well-balanced V-shaped tuning that’s easy to like across genres. What I really enjoy is how it keeps vocals clean, separate, and full of finesse—female vocals in particular are the highlight, and it’s honestly a “vocals monster” around the $100 class. Bass is resonant with good note weight and that dynamic-driver punch (more sub-bass than mid-bass), while treble is smooth with decent extension and air without getting excessive. Staging and width are strong for the price, and positioning feels nicely balanced. I also compared it to the 7Hz Sonus: the Sonus can be a good discounted buy, but I prefer the Feather for its smoother, more refined presentation and higher resolution. My ratings: Bass 7.5, Mids 7.5, Treble 7, Resolution 7.5, Soundstage 7.
