About This Video

I know why you clicked into this one. Eartips. And honestly, if you’re trying to cover almost every IEM in your collection without owning a drawer full of random silicone, I really think you only need three categories: narrow bore, wide bore, and hybrid. In this video I break down what each type does to the sound—how narrow bores tame treble, how wide bores open up staging and air, and how hybrids can give you that “best of both” balance with great isolation. For narrow bore, my go-to is the final Audio Type E because it smooths harsher treble peaks in a tasteful way without turning your IEM into a dark dungeon. You also get a fuller-bodied bass perception, great comfort, and it even comes in five sizes so seal is easy. For wide bore, I pick the Nostalgia Audio XWB because it adds air and staging naturally, gives gentle clarity and sparkle, and stays comfortable for long sessions—especially nice for warmer, bassier sets that need a bit more breathing room. Finally, for hybrid, I recommend the final Audio Fusion G: excellent engineering, strong isolation, solid bass body, balanced tuning, and it lasts way longer than pure foam. And yes, I skip foam here. In 2025, I just don’t prefer it—foam damps treble too much and degrades too quickly unless you’re swapping it constantly.
