About This Video

Hey guys—today’s This Is Home vlog is all about giving our mudroom/entryway (right off the garage) a much-needed refresh. Instead of doing the typical built-in cubbies and cabinets, we went with a more affordable, less permanent option that still feels elevated and cozy: a sideboard. When we first walk into the house, I really want it to feel like a warm welcome home, and this space just wasn’t giving that with the random chair and pampas grass. I’m sharing how we styled the area from start to finish—cleaning it up, assembling the Colamy sideboard (it was actually really easy and came with everything we needed), and then figuring out the best layout. I added a 3x3 mirror from HomeGoods to open up the space and make it functional for those “let me make sure everything is in place” moments before we leave. And for the coziest touch, I used battery-operated wall sconces from Amazon—no hardwiring, super cost effective, and they add the prettiest warm glow. The best part is we now have real storage (we’re using it for shoes), plus a modern, neutral, organic vibe that still feels luxe on a budget. I’ll keep you updated as I decorate it more, but I’m so happy with how much better this entry feels already.
