It’s not just a cozy spot — it’s a space that’s helped me build intention into my days, one quiet moment at a time. About This Video

This video is a little tour of a spot in my home I didn’t expect to mean so much: a simple chair by the window, a side table, and a stack of books. Over time it became a quiet retreat—a soft place to land when the world feels fast. I share what this reading nook has taught me about slow living, presence, and why analog rituals (book in hand, pen and paper nearby) help me feel grounded. For me, this space isn’t about doing—it’s about arriving. No multitasking, no notifications, no scrolling. I read one book at a time, underline, pause, and sometimes reread the same sentence until it sinks in. I also keep a commonplace notebook within reach, not structured or perfect—tidy pages next to messy scribbles—just honest notes on what I don’t want to forget. And even when I’m not reading or writing, I sit and listen (birds… or the chaos of kids), letting stillness and “unproductivity” do their quiet work. If you don’t have a nook, consider this your sign: it doesn’t need to be Pinterest-perfect—it just needs to be grounding.
