About This Video

Cursive can feel like a relic in a world ruled by keyboards and screens—but that’s exactly why I keep coming back to it. In this video, I share how relearning cursive became one of the most grounding things I’ve done: a way to slow my mind down, add texture to my mornings, and be fully present on the page. For me, cursive isn’t about looking fancy—it’s about attention, memory, and the simple satisfaction of watching ink move in one continuous flow. I walk you through what you actually need to start (spoiler: not much): a smooth pen or pencil and a notebook that lays flat. If you want to make it more joyful, I share the tools I personally love—fountain pens, smooth paper like Midori/Tomoe/Rhodia, and a guide sheet under blank pages. Then I break cursive down into the building blocks I use: undercurves, overcurves, and loops—because the alphabet really does become a dance. I also show my own imperfect spots (my E’s are a struggle), how I personalize uppercase letters, and why consistency matters more than perfection. Over time, cursive becomes a ritual—a quiet act of resistance—and a way to make your thoughts visible.
