The king of BBQ is the brisket. Do not let the brisket intimidate you. Everyone can cook a brisket in their own backyard. There are several key steps you have to follow for great tasting brisket. This video details the most simplest method for creating great BBQ. Believe me, you'll be glad you tried cooking brisket. The taste of burning post oak logs with salty beef is a flavor that is cherished by all. My method: Whole packer brisket (point and flat combined) Trim the brisket so the exposed fat is not more than 1/4 inch thick Apply salt and pepper to the whole exterior of the brisket While using a water pan set your BBQ up for a long cook with either post oak chucks or logs BBQ the brisket at 275 degrees until the internal temperature is around 165-170. Wrap the brisket in butcher paper and put back on the BBQ Once the brisket is probe tender (around 200 degrees) take it off of the BBQ, wrap in a towel, and place it into a ice chest (probe tender means the probe goes into the brisket with little resistance) Once the brisket has rested for, at least, 1 hour take it out of the ice chest and unwrap your delicious and most prized creation Start slicing the flat first, against the grain, then cut the point in the opposite direction for best results Since you're the Pitmaster make sure you are getting the best slices and pieces of burnt ends while you are slicing because once it is served it is going to go quick. -------------------------------------------- You can directly support our channel!
