Hello hello! In this video I’m taking you inside one of our micro camper builds—a 2018 Ford Transit Connect LWB—to break down the electrical and plumbing systems in a simple, easy-to-understand way. I pull the drawer out to access the electrical cabinet and walk through how we power real-world stuff in a tiny van: a coffee maker, small microwave, electric kettle—anything under our 1500W inverter. I also show you the main disconnect, alternator and solar disconnects, shore power transfer, the Renogy DC-DC MPPT charger, and the labeled fuse box so you can understand how to use it, maintain it, and even troubleshoot it if something acts up. Then I switch over to plumbing—because fitting 14 gallons of fresh water in a micro camper is kind of our thing. I go through the sink setup, the pull-out sprayer faucet (yes, you can rinse bikes and dogs), and the under-sink water filter that’s rated for 12 months / 11,000 gallons. I show how our two 7-gallon tanks sit in the floor, how the fill port and level button work, and how you’ll know it’s full from the overfill port under the van. I also cover the 2.5-gallon gray tank with an electric dump valve, plus heat pads for the battery and tanks so cold-weather camping doesn’t turn into a frozen mess.
