In this video I’m walking you through a Ford Transit Connect passenger van conversion where we tried a few new ideas I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I start by showing you an empty Connect so you can feel how small these vans are before a build—because once we’re done, it’s kind of wild how much we can pack into a micro camper. Then we jump into the finished van and I break down the new features: a 24-inch TV on a locking swivel mount (perfect for YouTube or “Netflix and chill”), a portable AC unit built under the bed, and a futon bed system done in two separate cushions instead of our usual one-piece setup. I also do a quick run-through of the core systems we’re known for: running water with a pull-out faucet you can use like a little shower, a farm-style 16-inch sink, epoxy countertops, and a low-watt microwave. On the electrical side, we did something big—literally—by putting a 300Ah 12V lithium battery into the floor to triple capacity and free up cabinet space. From the back, I show how the AC is vented and the tradeoff you make (we lose the pullout table on this build). We also bumped solar to 200W, added window deflectors for airflow, and I share why these discontinued Transit Connects are still worth hunting down on the used market.
