Hey everybody—October is literally the best month of the year (Halloween + my birthday, hello), so in this video I’m doing my full October media favorites recap: books, movies, TV, music, and of course the vinyl I picked up. I’m also filming with freshly dyed red hair (it may look fine…it’s not fine), and I’m powered by a Witches Brew Alani because that’s just the correct beverage for this vibe. For books, I only read two, but the range was insane: I gave The Words by Ashley Jade one star (way too long, messy, and just not it), and then immediately redeemed myself with a five-star fall romance, If It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia. Movie-wise, I went full October mode: Practical Magic was a first-time watch and an instant five-star for me (midnight margaritas, witchy vibes, perfect), plus a bunch of rewatches like Twitches, Scooby-Doo, and Shrek 2. Then I get into my favorite songs (I linked my October Spotify playlist), a few recent albums I’ve been looping, and the vinyl haul: MGMT’s Time to Pretend EP (two pressings), Maddie Diaz’s new album, Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend picture disc, and finally my long-time ISO, Good at Falling by The Japanese House—aka the comfort record I’ve been spinning nonstop.
