About This Video

Hey everyone, it’s Sharon. In this video I’m doing my first cash stuffing of November as a zero-based cash budgeter, and it’s officially my second month of cash stuffing. I’m stuffing $937 today (well… technically $931 because I stopped at Dutch Bros on the way home from the bank and spent $6, but I budgeted for it, so we’re good). If you’re a smaller cash stuffer and you’re not out here stuffing $2,000 every week, this one is for you—this is my biggest cash stuffing yet because I’m pulling cash for a weekend away. I start in my wallet categories like groceries ($100), babysitter/child care ($150), household, and restaurants, and I’m honest about where I under-stuffed at first and then fixed it to match my budget (hello, restaurants at $37). The big focus is my vacation envelope—$500 goes in there to fully fund my weekend trip with my sister-in-law (spa + hotel, plus a little extra for eating out and maybe thrifting/consignment). I also put $75 toward property taxes in my long-term sinking funds and $25 into hair for my husband (and maybe my daughter) before Thanksgiving. I end by making sure every dollar has a job, including buffer cash in my wallet, because that’s the whole point of zero-based budgeting.
