This video is one of those random mornings that ends up feeling so special. I looked at the temperature and saw it was going to be 80 degrees at the end of February, and I was like… yep, we’re going to the zoo. It was totally last minute, we left early, and of course that meant we had to grab food on the way—so we hit McDonald’s and I got an iced caramel macchiato. I’m not even kidding, that coffee was actually not bad for how cheap it is (it was like $3), but I also finished it before we even got to the zoo in true fashion. Once we got there, it was packed—apparently everyone had the same idea. I also shared one of my biggest mom-outing must-haves: keeping a snack bag in your diaper bag or stroller, because it’s seriously game-changing for places like the zoo. We walked around, did all the little moments with the girls, struggled through the uphill (because why is it always uphill), and then after we got out, I fed Blakeley and we recapped the best part—baby gorilla. Just a simple day, but I’m genuinely so grateful it can look like this.
