Good morning from our little fam—today was extra special (and honestly a little bittersweet) because it was my 34th birthday and Blakely’s 2nd birthday on the same day. Her party was supposed to be the day before, but we had to cancel because of the ice and snowstorm, and my husband had to work that night. So it ended up being just me and the kids, and I was determined to still make it feel fun and memorable for her (and for me too). I set up a little birthday surprise outside her door with her toy animals, party hats, and the only helium balloons I had left from their Valentine’s photoshoot since I didn’t have helium for the pink balloons I bought. We did a sweet little birthday wake-up, made yogurt bowls for the “birthday girls,” and of course watched The Grinch—per Blakely’s request, like always. We also bundled up for her very first time playing in the snow (she was over it fast because she got too cold), so I brought some snow inside for a quick little sensory moment. And yes… it wouldn’t be a birthday without a coffee and ending the day with pizza and football. Go Broncos.
