If you’re looking for one of those perfect, Pinterest sewing room tours… this is not that. In this video I’m showing you the real behind-the-scenes chaos that happens when I’m juggling multiple garments at once—projects on the cutting table, thread everywhere, patterns and instructions out, and unfinished pieces that have been “waiting” for way too long. I’m cleaning as I go, talking through what I’m working on (and why it’s stalled), and giving you a very honest look at what my sewing room actually looks like when I’m actively sewing. I walk you through a few current and long-term works-in-progress: my denim dress (yes, the plackets are still stressing me out), a tunnel top experiment that went sideways, and a kimono jacket that’s been haunting me for two years because the band/facing situation is… a lot. I also share how I’m organizing traced patterns using clear plastic envelopes and a file organizer box—because if I can’t find my pieces, I’m definitely not finishing the project. And sprinkled throughout is the pep talk I needed myself: don’t start with your unicorn fabric, don’t be afraid to try, and if it doesn’t work, you can almost always salvage it and sew something else.
