In this video, I tried something a little different and followed a UK baddie base routine—Miss Uche Natori, okay? I’ve seen her base on TikTok and it’s literally chef’s kiss, but this was my first time watching her full YouTube base tutorial and actually trying to replicate it step-by-step on my own face. I used what I had (like my Dominique Cosmetics mattifying primer, JCAT’s cream-to-powder as a stand-in for the tinted blurring balm, and my usual mix of House Labs foundation shades) and I really committed to her technique—laying product down first, letting things “vibe,” and then blending after. I’m not gonna lie, the process had me nervous because it’s not how I normally do my makeup. I’m a sponge girly, I like my base to look seamless, and I cannot play about under-eye creasing—so watching her let concealer sit had me like… girl, I can’t do that. But once I did the brush-first-then-sponge method and started layering powders/bronzer back in, it really came together. The finished look was matte, smooth, and I looked beat to the guts—plus the little beauty marks were so cute. Would I do her exact routine again? Probably not. But the final result was beautiful, and I definitely picked up tips I’d tweak to fit my face.
