Whether this company purposely drilled the LCD, frame, and battery of this laptop to prevent it from being sold, or they did so thinking they were destroying the data, is irrelevant. The issue is these high-performance, otherwise perfectly functional laptops could have gone into the hands of someone that needs it. The sad reality is in the US, this Latitude was already BER, or, "Beyond Economical Repair" since the battery, keyboard, LCD, and bottom cover would cost more than the entire laptop is worth ($140 or so on eBay).
