In this video, I take on a special mission with my dad: rescuing a boring concrete patio and turning it into a one-of-a-kind garden aquarium. I start by sketching the shape right on the patio, cutting the concrete, digging out the soil, and cleaning the inside. Then I build the walls using half bricks and coat the entire interior with waterproof cement so it can hold water safely. My favorite part is the “genius move” waterfall feature—using an old glove as a mold to shape a cement hand, reinforced with steel fiber, to become a waterfall stand. I also show my patented-style trick for making handmade cement bricks using a glass bottle as a mold, then stacking those bricks to build up the aquarium walls. After everything cures, I paint the walls sky blue with a bold orange rim, drill and fit PVC into a clay pot, install a pump, and let the system soak for 5 days. My key tip: chop banana stalks and soak them in the water to help remove cement smell and toxins before adding gravel, ceramic rings for clearer water, plants, and finally fish.
