Hey everyone—today me and dad kicked off a super special backyard build: a number 8 shaped waterfall aquarium. I love this shape because it’s a symbol of endless luck and prosperity, and when the water flows through both loops, it really feels like “lucky water” moving nonstop. We started simple: dad sketched the giant 8 in the yard, dug it out, lined the outline with bricks, then slathered cement and smoothed the bottom to make a solid foundation. After letting it set, we reinforced the outside with another brick layer and drilled a hole for the waterfall pipe. Then came the fun part—the waterfall itself. Dad recycled broken bricks (cheap, eco-friendly, and perfect for rock shapes) and built layer after layer like a mini mountain. We added a cute cement bridge with bent steel rods, plus a small compartment in the lower loop. For details, dad sculpted lotus buds in sand molds, painted everything lemon yellow and grayish white, and tied ropes for a rustic railing. After installing the pump, soaking for 3 days, adding filter media, gravel, plants, rocks, and finally fish, the whole garden got a relaxing, endless-flow vibe.
