About This Video

Me and dad are back again, and this time we made a low-cost 2-in-1 system for my wife (mom): a greenhouse with a built-in fish aquarium. I start by sketching an L-shaped tank, digging out the soil, and saving that dirt because we’ll reuse it later for the raised beds inside the greenhouse. Then I line the walls with bricks, smooth cement on the inside, and build a solid foundation. I place a concrete slab over the aquarium to make a walkway into the greenhouse, finish the tank floor, and quickly pour the saved dirt back in to form the garden beds. After that, it’s greenhouse time. I cut and sand the wooden beams (no splinters), craft the joints, assemble the frame tight, and add a proper entrance door. For the roof, I bend metal rods into an arch, cover everything with clear plastic, staple it snug, and lock it down with nylon strings so wind and weather can’t mess with it. Then I fertilize and plant, paint the outside and tank area a vibrant green, and set up a natural bubbling corner in the tank using a clay pot and a pump. I soak the aquarium for 3 days, add chopped banana tree trunks as a pro tip, then drain and clean before releasing the fish—20 days later the veggies explode, and by 45 days we’re harvesting fresh organic food at home.
