Small yard, but my mom still wanted three things at once: a fish aquarium, a duck house, and a veggie garden. So in this video I team up with my dad, and we pull out the “genius card” to bundle everything into one mini 3-in-1 farm combo. First we clear the battlefield, then dad digs the aquarium (honestly, best workout program ever—forget the gym). We line the hole with clinker bricks, add red bricks outside for style points, and build a clean wooden frame—no splinters allowed. Next comes the countryside vibes: bamboo poles for the duck house floor, thin bamboo slats for rustic walls, and a palm-leaf roof for deep shade. For the aquarium base, I go with a heavy waterproof tarp—quick, cheap, effective, triple win—then we upcycle three old barrels into a serious filter system with pipes, pads, and ceramic rings. To make it last, we seal wood and bamboo with PU varnish, rinse everything to remove the smell, and get the pump running. The final piece is my favorite ecosystem trick: floating veggie rafts. I cut holes in foam sheets, paint them, and plant water spinach so the roots drink nutrients straight from the aquarium. Fish feed the veggies, veggies help clean the water—then it’s fish below, ducks on top, and greens floating all around.
