About This Video

In this video I’m talking about something super simple, but honestly super important now that Apple moved the iPhone 15 series from Lightning to USB‑C: cables and chargers. Apple does include a 1M USB‑C cable in the box, which is a nice upgrade, but it’s still just one cable—and if you’ve got loads of old Lightning cables, you’ll probably want a few new USB‑C ones. The problem is Apple’s own cable and 20W adapter can get expensive fast, so I checked out a more budget-friendly option from Ornarto (not 100% sure on the pronunciation—let me know in the comments). I unbox and compare their tiny 20W USB‑C wall charger (EU version in my case, but they’ve got UK/US options too) against Apple’s 20W brick. Ornarto’s is cheaper (about $13 vs $20) and still gives you the same 20W Power Delivery, plus safety protections that cut out if it overheats or shorts. Then I test their USB‑C to USB‑C braided nylon cables in 1M (3ft) and 2M (6ft), including the green one—because if you know me, you know I love green. They’re thick, feel premium, have a tight connection, and support up to 60W PD with QC 3.0. Data speed is USB 2.0 (480Mbps), so it’s mainly a charging cable, but for the price I’m genuinely impressed and I’ll do a long-term update in a few months.
