In this video I’m showing you an easy, elegant bridal bun tutorial for my girls who want to wear their natural hair on their wedding day. This was actually for a photoshoot campaign for my bridal business, and I’ve been wanting to do this style for a long time—because it gives “traditional bride,” but still lets you keep the integrity and volume of your natural hair. We did a very light blowout (not too much) so the hair stays full and healthy-looking, then I walk you through how I get everything sleek without flattening the bun. My ponytail method is key: I split the hair so I can secure the back first, then go back and perfect the top. For the front, I go for a clean middle part so the whole look is straight to the point—sleek, neat, and symmetrical. I use Shine N Jam with my Keracare Edge Tamer (I use them in tandem) because I need hold that won’t make the hair revert. Then I add crochet hair for fullness, pin it in, tuck the ponytail under to form the bun, and finish with a bridal clip/comb accessory. It comes together quick once the ponytail is set, and the final look is honestly chef’s kiss.
