About This Video

In this video I’m doing boho (aka goddess) knotless box braids on myself for the first time, and I’m taking you from the very beginning—parting, product, the knotless technique, and how I add the human hair for those loose curly pieces. I’ll be real: it took me way longer than I anticipated, but I’m super happy with the results. The look comes out full, soft, and really gives that summer bohemian vibe everybody’s been getting. I show you what hair I used (pre-stretched braiding hair plus loose deep human hair), how I sectioned my hair into small-medium parts, and why I take my time parting first—because it saves time later. When I get to the front, I talk through my exact method: I braid inward, do three rotations before adding hair, and I add 2–3 pieces depending on the size I want. The key is making sure you braid in the straight part of the human hair while leaving the curly piece out, then spacing curly pieces every few rotations. To finish, I use a tiny drop of nail glue on the ends and clip it to set while I move to the next braid. I also oil my scalp and tie a scarf down so everything can lay and soak in. Since it’s human hair, I’m excited because I can use my regular curly hair products on it and style it a bunch of ways for the next month.
