In this video, I’m breaking down why I’m not forcing myself to “niche down” into one tiny box—and what I’m doing instead as a multi-passionate beauty creative. I share how I built Raq Natural Industries and how it helps me combine everything I love: natural hair, makeup, oily-skin skincare tips, lifestyle, and the behind-the-scenes of building real businesses. I’m Raquel (most people call me Raq), and I’m a beauty multi-hyphenate creator with three lanes under one mission: hair + makeup services for shoots, weddings, and events, my hair accessory e-commerce business (y’all see the shorts on my channel), and a community for other beauty multi-hyphenates who are trying to navigate all their passions without feeling scattered. I also talk about the mindset shift I had going into 2023—stepping outside my comfort zone, building stronger connections, and trusting what I feel called to do. I know it can feel overwhelming when people keep seeing you start “something new,” but I don’t let that noise stop me. I sat down and asked myself how everything I’m working on can tie into one overall mission, and that’s how the “Industries” came together. My biggest takeaway: you don’t have to shrink—get clear enough to explain what you do in 1–2 sentences, and let your multi-hyphenate skills work together on purpose.
