About This Video

In this video I review the Meepo AMP board, and the first thing that hit me was the presentation. The board comes in a really premium-looking box with a carrying bag that honestly doubles as a gift bag, plus pads, a compact charger, and a surprisingly nice color-screen remote for what’s supposed to be Meepo’s most affordable board. The AMP itself is crazy easy to carry at about 5 kg, short at around a 60 cm deck, and it sits super low thanks to the drop-down design—so low that Meepo literally includes a warning about speed bumps. Out on the road, the ride is genuinely fun on flat ground: it carves nicely, feels stable because the center of gravity is the lowest I’ve felt on an electric skateboard, and you can kick-push it like a regular longboard since it’s a single hub motor setup. But power is not the point here. I’m big and over the weight limit, and uphill it slows down hard—like crawling speed—while downhill the brakes felt only “okay,” which can get a bit sketchy if you’re moving fast. The big surprise was comfort: even over rough tiles, it felt more manageable than expected, and I think that plastic/hollow structure is doing a legit job absorbing vibration. Overall, I see this as a lightweight, easy-to-carry board for beginners, kids, teens, or lighter riders who want simple fun on flatter paths.
