About This Video

What’s good? RJ Baculo here, and in this video I’m unboxing and reviewing the Royal Kludge RK M100—Royal Kludge’s 96% compact layout board with a full numpad. If you saw my RK M65 review, this one feels like the bigger, more feature-stacked sibling, and I was genuinely curious how it would stack up in sound and typing feel. I walk through the unboxing, do a quick sound test, then break down the pros and cons so you can decide if it deserves a spot on your desk. The big wins for me are the smooth, creamy typing experience from RK’s pre-lubed Creamy switches, the solid gasket-style build, and the five layers of sound dampening that make it sound great right out of the box. Aesthetically, it stands above the generic mechanical keyboard look with the retro colorway (I’ve got the crimson/maroon), the wedge base, and the classy dual-knob + mini LCD setup. On the flip side, I still hate the snap-on case design (prying it open is a pain), I’m not a fan of how some function keys are mapped to a secondary layer right in the middle of the alpha cluster, and I wish it had proper QMK/VIA support. Overall, it’s a sophisticated budget keyboard that’s especially handy if you need that numpad in a compact footprint.
