Elgato dominates the Stream Deck space for a reason, and in this video I put the Stream Deck+ through a real creator-studio test—plus I try the two modular add-ons that make it extra interesting: the USB Hub and the XLR Dock. Elgato reached out and sent these over for review, but this isn’t a paid collaboration and they had zero editorial input—so everything here is just my honest experience using it on my desk. I walk through the unboxing, build quality, and why the Stream Deck+ feels like a premium product (it’s got heft, stable weight, big vibrant LCD buttons, and those anodized CNC aluminum knobs with genuinely great tactile feedback). Then I get into the workflow stuff: assigning actions in the Stream Deck software, grabbing plugins and profiles from the marketplace, and how the knobs + touchscreen strip make it feel more like a hands-on control surface for volume, mic levels, zoom, scrolling, and more. My biggest takeaways: the USB Hub attachment became my daily driver because I’m constantly short on ports, and the XLR Dock can basically turn the Stream Deck+ into an audio interface with phantom power and headphone monitoring. But I do have gripes—like only being able to attach one module at a time, paid marketplace profiles that feel way too expensive, and the premium price tag that I’d only justify if you’re creating/streaming consistently (especially if it’s monetized).
